State Advisory Council
The State Advisory Council cultivates advocacy opportunities and mobilizes youth to make their voices heard on the issues that matter most to children and youth in the foster care system. Local Mockingbird Network Chapters select delegates (Chapter Leaders) to take part in the State Advisory Council where a foster care system-reform agenda and work plan is developed.
The State Advisory Council participates in legislative advocacy and is supported by:
- community leaders
- elected officials
- child welfare experts
- adult alumni of foster care
All voting rights on the State Advisory Council are reserved for Chapter Leaders.
